Description

Popeye’s Cajun fries copycat recipe must try uber tasty! I avoided Popeye’s for years, and I am not proud of it.


Ingredients

3 large potatoes
1 teaspoon black pepper
¾ teaspoon salt
¾ teaspoon onion powder
¾ teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon sugar
2 tablespoon olive oil
3 tablespoon flour


Instructions

1-Preheat the oven to 425 Degrees: Preheat the oven to 425 Degrees.
2-Wash and scrub the potatoes: Wash and scrub the potatoes. Dry them completely.
3-Peel the potatoes and cut them into: Peel the potatoes and cut them into ¼” evenly cut fries.
4-Bring a large pot of water to: Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the potatoes to the pot. Cook them for 3 minutes but no longer.
5-Drain the fries and then place them: Drain the fries and then place them on a paper towel for drying.
6-Combine all of the seasonings in a: Combine all of the seasonings in a small bowl.

11-Coat the potatoes with the seasoning mix: Coat the potatoes with the seasoning mix that you created earlier-Reserve about 10% of the seasoning for the final step.
12-Place the potatoes on your pan and: Place the potatoes on your pan and be careful to spread them out. They shouldn’t touch one another. It would help if you had plenty of air space between them so that they evenly cook.
13-Cover the pan with foil: Cover the pan with foil.
14-Bake for 5 minutes: Bake for 5 minutes.
15-Remove the foil and bake for another: Remove the foil and bake for another 15 minutes or until they are golden brown.
16-Remove the pan and flip the potatoes: Remove the pan and flip the potatoes.
17-Return the potatoes to the oven and: Return the potatoes to the oven and bake for another 15 minutes, or are they crisp up and turn golden brown.
18-Sprinkle the remaining seasoning on cooked fries: Sprinkle the remaining seasoning on cooked fries.
