Chocolate Covered Bananas Chocolate covered bananas are a three ingredient summer dessert that needs no baking at all, and the result is cold, sweet, and creamy. They are easy enough that even kids can make them with a little help from an adult.
Ingredients
4 ripe but firm bananas
8 wooden popsicle sticks or skewers
12 ounces dark or semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 tablespoons coconut oil
Chopped nut, sprinkles, etc
Instructions
1-Peel the bananas and cut them in: Peel the bananas and cut them in half, width-wise. Gently insert a wooden stick into the cut-end of each banana half, making sure it’s firmly in place.
2-Arrange the banana pops on a baking: Arrange the banana pops on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Freeze for about 1 hour or until firm.
3-Combine the chocolate chips and coconut oil: Combine the chocolate chips and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth. Alternatively, melt the chocolate using a double boiler on the stove.
4-Dip each frozen banana half into the: Dip each frozen banana half into the melted chocolate, turning to coat it evenly. Let the excess chocolate drip off.
5-Before the chocolate sets, sprinkle over any: Before the chocolate sets, sprinkle over any toppings, if using.
6-Place the chocolate-covered bananas back on the: Place the chocolate-covered bananas back on the parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Freeze until the chocolate is set and the bananas are solid, about 1 hour.
