– Black pepper (to taste)

– 4 cloves garlic

– 1 tablespoon fresh grated ginger (or 1/4 cup candied ginger)

– 1 to 3 teaspoons Chinese 5 spice

– 1/3 cup tamari or soy sauce

– 1/4 cup Thai chili sauce

– 1/4 cup chopped green onions

– 8 to 10 flour tortillas

– 4 Persian cucumbers (sliced)

– 2 cups cilantro

– 1/2 cup Thai basil

– 1/3 cup chopped roasted peanuts

– Chili paste for added heat

– Toasted sesame oil for extra flavor

– 1/3 cup honey

– 2 tablespoons ketchup

– 1 to 2 tablespoons chili paste

– 2 teaspoons lime zest

– 2 tablespoons lime juice

– 1 tablespoon rice vinegar

– 2 teaspoons tamari or soy sauce

– 1 tablespoon grated ginger

– 1 clove grated garlic

Instructions

1-Step 1: Prep Your Ingredients Wash and chop your fresh items like green onions, cilantro, and Persian cucumbers. Mince the garlic and grate the ginger this sets the stage for that amazing aroma. Measure out your spices and sauces to avoid any rush later.

2-Step 2: Cook the Beef Mixture Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the 1 1/2 pounds of ground beef. Season with black pepper and cook until browned, stirring in the 4 cloves of garlic, 1 tablespoon of fresh grated ginger, and 1 to 3 teaspoons of Chinese 5 spice. Pour in 1/3 cup of tamari or soy sauce and 1/4 cup of Thai chili sauce, then simmer until the sauce clings to the meat that’s about 5 minutes of magic!

3-Step 3: Add Finishing Touches Stir in 1/4 cup of chopped green onions and remove from heat. This step locks in those fresh flavors without overcooking. Now, portion the mixture into 8 to 10 flour tortillas and top with sliced Persian cucumbers, 2 cups of cilantro, 1/2 cup of Thai basil, and 1/3 cup of chopped roasted peanuts for a colorful, crunchy finish.

4-Step 4: Serve and Enjoy If you want, drizzle on chili paste and toasted sesame oil for extra zing. For that homemade Thai chili sauce, mix 1/3 cup honey, 2 tablespoons ketchup, 1 to 2 tablespoons chili paste, 2 teaspoons lime zest, 2 tablespoons lime juice, 1 tablespoon rice vinegar, 2 teaspoons tamari or soy sauce, 1 tablespoon grated ginger, and 1 clove grated garlic in a bowl it’s a game-changer! Serve right away and savor every bite; it’s that simple and oh-so-satisfying.
