Description

🌭 Enjoy easy-to-make Tear and Share Sausage Rolls that are perfect for parties and gatherings, offering fun interactive snacking.
🥐 Made with flaky puff pastry wrapped around flavorful sausage, these rolls bring savory satisfaction with every bite.

Ingredients

– 320 g Ready-rolled puff pastry Creates the flaky outer layer

– 5 Thick pork sausages Provides the savory filling

– 1 Egg, lightly beaten For sealing and glazing

Instructions

1-Preheat your oven: preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F fan) and line a baking tray with parchment paper or a silicone mat. This setup helps everything bake evenly and prevents sticking.

2-Prepare the sausages and pastry: remove the skins from the sausages and unroll the puff pastry on a clean surface.

3-Slice the pastry: Slice the pastry lengthwise into two long pieces for easy handling. Place two and a half sausages along the middle of each piece, stretching them slightly if needed to fit.

4-Brushing and rolling: Brush the top edges with the beaten egg to act as a glue, then roll up the sausages tightly, sealing everything with more egg wash.

5-Seal the rolls: Turn the rolls over so the seam is underneath, and press it shut with a fork for a secure seal. Arrange the rolls into a spiral or ring on the tray, sealing the ends with egg wash.

6-Shape and twist: Partially cut the ring into small sections from the outside in, without going all the way through, and twist each one 90 degrees so the sausage peeks up.

7-Finish and bake: Brush the entire visible pastry with egg wash for that golden finish. Pop it in the oven and bake for 18-25 minutes until it’s beautifully browned.

8-Cool and serve: Once done, let it cool a bit and serve warm or cold you can even add decorations like rosemary or veggies for extra flair. The total prep time is just 15 minutes, with 18 minutes of cooking, making the whole process about 33 minutes.

Notes

🥐 Puff pastry is key for a light, flaky texture—do not substitute with phyllo dough.
🌶️ For extra flavor, mix in chopped jalapeño and parmesan with the sausage meat before rolling.
❄️ These rolls can be made ahead, refrigerated, and reheated at 180°C (375°F) for 10-15 minutes or served cold.
