Ingredients

– 1 angel food cake

– 1 package (3 ounces) strawberry gelatin

– 1 tablespoon cornstarch

– 1 cup water


Instructions

1-First, in a medium saucepan, combine 1/2 cup sugar, cornstarch, strawberry gelatin, lemon juice, and water. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture boils and thickens, then set it aside to cool slightly.

2-Next, stir in the sliced strawberries to infuse that fresh, fruity taste.

3-After that, tear the angel food cake into 1-inch pieces and toss with 2 cups of whipped topping. Press this mixture into a 9×13 inch glass pan to form the base.

4-In a separate mixing bowl, beat together cream cheese, the remaining 1/2 cup sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth, then fold in the rest of the whipped topping and spread it over the cake layer.

5-Finally, pour the cooled strawberry mixture over the cream cheese layer and spread it evenly. Refrigerate for 2 to 3 hours before serving to let the flavors set. For added convenience, know that frozen strawberries, thawed and chopped, can stand in for fresh ones if needed.
