Small Batch Brownies

  • Author: Brandi Oshea
  • Total Time: 36-46 minutes
  • Yield: About 8 brownies

Description

🍫 Enjoy rich, gooey brownies in a perfectly sized small batch, ideal for satisfying your chocolate cravings without leftovers.
πŸ”₯ This one-bowl recipe uses simple ingredients to create fudgy brownies with a crackled top that everyone will love.

Ingredients

– 6 tablespoons (79 g) melted butter (regular or dairy-free)

– 1/2 cup (100 g) granulated sugar

– 6 tablespoons (75 g) light brown sugar

– 1 egg

– 1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract

– 1/8 teaspoon salt

– 5 tablespoons (40 g) all-purpose flour

– 6 tablespoons (32 g) unsweetened cocoa powder (Dutch process preferred, natural also works)

– 1/3 cup chocolate chips (any variety, regular or dairy-free)

Instructions

1-Preheat your oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C) and lining an 8Γ—4 or 9Γ—5 inch loaf pan with parchment paper for easy removal later.

2-Melt the butter and mix with sugars: First, melt the butter and mix it with both sugars until the mixture becomes paste-like and pulls away from the bowl.

3-Whisk in egg and vanilla: Next, whisk in the egg and vanilla extract to create a smooth base.

4-Add dry ingredients and fold in chocolate chips: Then, add the flour, cocoa powder, and salt, stirring just until combined before folding in the chocolate chips.

5-Bake the batter: Pour the batter evenly into your prepared pan and bake for 26-36 minutes. You’re aiming for a crackly top where a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs but no wet batter, and the center doesn’t jiggle.

6-Cool before slicing: Let the brownies cool completely before slicing to ensure they set properly here’s where patience pays off for that perfect fudgy texture.

Notes

βš–οΈ Measure flour and cocoa powder accurately using a scale or spoon and level method to avoid dryness.
πŸŒ€ Mix dry ingredients only until just combined to prevent over-mixing and sinking.
⏲️ Avoid over-baking; toothpick should show moist crumbs, and the batter should jiggle slightly when done.
