Ingredients
– 2 lbs ripe plums, pitted and quartered
– 1/2 cup granulated sugar
– 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
– 1 tsp ground cinnamon
– 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
– 1/3 cup fine yellow cornmeal
– 1/3 cup granulated sugar
– 2 tsp baking powder
– 1/2 tsp salt
– 1 1/2 sticks (12 Tbsp) cold unsalted butter, cut into 12 pieces
– 1 cup cold heavy whipping cream
Instructions
1-Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F.
2-In a bowl: mix together the sugar, flour, and cinnamon.
3-Rinse the plums: cut into quarters, and remove pits.
4-Place half the plums: in a deep dish pie pan. Sprinkle half the sugar/flour/cinnamon mixture evenly over them.
5-Add the remaining plums: and sprinkle with the rest of the sugar mixture.
6-For the biscuit topping: combine flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a food processor and pulse to blend.
7-Add the cold butter: and pulse until the mixture resembles pea-sized crumbs.
8-Drizzle in the cold heavy whipping cream: and pulse just until combined.
9-Drop large spoonfuls of biscuit dough: around the edges of the pie, leaving the center exposed for ventilation and a rustic aesthetic.
10-Bake in the center of the oven: for 40 to 45 minutes, or until the biscuit topping is golden and the filling is bubbling.
11-To prevent spills and keep the oven clean: place foil or a baking sheet on the rack below the pie for the last 20 minutes of baking.
12-Optionally: dust the biscuit topping with powdered sugar before serving.

🥧 Use a 9 or 10-inch deep dish pie pan with at least 2-inch tall walls for best results.
