Description

🥪 Reuben Crescent Sandwich Bake offers all the classic flavors of a Reuben sandwich in a quick, easy-to-make casserole form.
⏲️ Ready in under 30 minutes, this recipe is perfect for busy weeknights and makes great leftovers for effortless meals.

Ingredients

– 2 tubes of refrigerated crescent rolls forms the bottom and top layers for a flaky crust

– 1 pound sliced Swiss cheese, divided adds creamy richness to the layers

– 1 and 1/4 pounds sliced deli corned beef provides the main savory protein base

– 1 can (14 oz) sauerkraut, rinsed and well drained brings in that tangy, fermented flavor

– 1 cup Thousand Island salad dressing combines with sauerkraut for a sweet and tangy mixture

– 1 lightly beaten egg white brushed on the crust for a golden finish

– 3 teaspoons caraway seeds sprinkled on top for a hint of earthy flavor

– Butter for sautéing the corned beef helps enhance the meat’s flavor quickly

Instructions

1-Getting started: Getting started with this Reuben Crescent Bake is as easy as pie, and I’m excited to guide you through it step by step. First, preheat your oven to 375°F and grease a 13×9 baking dish to set the stage for a perfect bake. Unroll one tube of crescent rolls into a rectangle, seal the seams, and press it into the dish before baking for 9-11 minutes until it’s golden and ready for layering.

2-Cooking the beef: While that’s baking, give the 1 and 1/4 pounds of sliced deli corned beef a quick sauté in butter to boost its flavor it only takes a minute or two.

3-Layering: Once the crust is done, layer on half of the 1 pound sliced Swiss cheese for that creamy base. Next, add the corned beef evenly, followed by the mixture of 1 can (14 oz) sauerkraut (rinsed and well drained) combined with 1 cup Thousand Island salad dressing for that classic tang.

4-Finishing touches: Top it off with the remaining Swiss cheese to seal in all those flavors. For the finishing touch, unroll the second tube of crescent rolls over the top, brush it with 1 lightly beaten egg white, and sprinkle on 3 teaspoons caraway seeds. Pop it back in the oven for 12-16 minutes until the top turns golden brown. Let it stand for 5 minutes before cutting trust me, this helps the layers set up nicely.

Notes

🥄 Use pastrami to substitute half the corned beef for a flavor variation.
🔥 Sauté corned beef before layering to enhance flavor and warmth.
🥚 Brushing with egg white and sprinkling caraway seeds gives a beautiful golden crust and classic taste.
