Ingredients

– 1 (28-ounce) can whole tomatoes with juice (approximately 794 grams)

– 2 (10-ounce) cans diced tomatoes and green chilies (approximately 284 grams each)

– 1/4 cup chopped white onion (about 40 grams)

– 1 whole jalapeño, quartered and thinly sliced, including seeds and membranes

– 1 clove garlic, minced

– 1/4 teaspoon sugar

– 1/4 teaspoon salt

– 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin

– Juice of 1/2 a lime

– 1/2 cup cilantro, chopped (about 8 grams), plus more to taste

– Tortilla chips or cheese nachos for serving


Instructions

1-Combine the whole tomatoes, diced tomatoes with green chilies, onion, jalapeño, garlic, sugar, salt, cumin, lime juice, and cilantro in a food processor.

2-Pulse the mixture 10 to 15 times until it reaches your preferred smooth consistency.

3-Taste with a tortilla chip and adjust the seasonings as necessary.

4-Refrigerate for at least one hour to let the flavors develop.

5-Serve chilled with tortilla chips or cheese nachos.
