Ingredients

Scale

1 pork butt or shoulder for slow-cooking

1/2 tablespoon salt

1/2 tablespoon black pepper

1/2 tablespoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon paprika

1/2 tablespoon onion powder

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

2 tablespoons packed brown sugar for seasoning the pork

12 ounces pineapple juice for cooking the pork

1/2 cup melted salted butter for the butter sauce

1 tablespoon sesame seeds for the butter sauce

1 teaspoon minced garlic for the butter sauce

1 teaspoon brown sugar for the butter sauce

1 teaspoon soy sauce for the butter sauce

1/4 teaspoon ginger for the butter sauce

3 cups pulled pork for assembling

2/3 cup barbecue sauce for mixing with pork, unless pork is already sauced

1/2 cup pineapple tidbits drained for assembling

12 Hawaiian dinner rolls for assembling

4 slices pepper jack cheese for assembling

Instructions

1-First, prepare all ingredients by slicing the rolls in half and brushing the bottoms with some of the butter sauce.

2-Second, layer the pulled pork on the rolls, followed by the pineapple tidbits and pepper jack cheese.

3-Third, top with the roll halves brushed with the remaining butter sauce, then cover loosely with foil.

4-Fourth, bake at 350Β°F (175Β°C) for 20 minutes until the cheese melts and the rolls start to brown.

5-Fifth, uncover and bake for an additional 3-5 minutes to crisp the tops perfectly.

6-Finally, let them cool slightly before adding optional toppings like shredded cabbage or French fried onions for extra crunch.

Notes

🍍 Use pineapple juice for slow cooking to tenderize pork and infuse tropical flavor.
🧈 Brush rolls with butter sauce for added moisture and richness.
πŸ₯ͺ Assemble sliders ahead of time and freeze for up to 3 months; thaw before baking for convenience.
