Description

πŸŽ„ This festive pull‑apart garlic bread looks like a holiday tree, instantly adding wow factor to any gathering.
πŸ§„ Roasted garlic butter infuses every slice with rich, aromatic flavor that everyone will love.

Ingredients

Scale

1 head garlic

3 Tbsp extra-virgin olive oil (for roasting)

3/4 cup warm whole milk

2 1/4 tsp instant yeast

1 Tbsp honey

2 large eggs

3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour, plus up to 1/2 cup extra as needed

1 tsp kosher salt

1 stick (1/2 cup) salted butter, softened, plus 2 Tbsp extra (divided)

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 Tbsp chopped fresh sage

2 tsp dried basil

1 tsp dried oregano

1 tsp dried parsley

1 pinch chili flakes

Instructions

1-First, start by roasting the garlic as outlined in the directions: Preheat your oven to 400Β°F (204Β°C), trim the top off the garlic head, drizzle it with the 3 Tbsp extra-virgin olive oil, wrap it in foil, and roast for 40-55 minutes until it’s golden and soft. Let it cool before moving on this step really brings out that amazing flavor!

2-Next, make the dough: In a stand-mixer with a dough hook, combine 3 1/4 cups flour, the instant yeast, salt, warm milk, honey, eggs, and 2 Tbsp butter. Mix for 4-5 minutes until you get a cohesive dough, adding extra flour if it’s too sticky. Cover it and let it rise for 30-60 minutes watch how it puffs up, it’s so satisfying!

3-Then, prepare the garlic butter: Mash the cooled roasted garlic with the remaining 1/2 cup butter, Parmesan cheese, sage, basil, oregano, parsley, and chili flakes to create a flavorful spread. Now, shape the bread: Divide the risen dough in half, roll each half into a 15Γ—11-inch rectangle, stack them, and cut a large triangle by slicing from the bottom corners to the top center. Transfer it to a parchment-lined baking sheet.

4-Fill and layer the bread: Spread two-thirds of the garlic butter over the triangle, place the second triangle on top, then cut 1-inch-wide vertical slices all the way down from the top edge, leaving the center intact. Gently twist each strip to show off that yummy filling. Finally, brush the remaining garlic butter over the twisted strips and bake for 25-30 minutes until it’s golden brown.

5-Serve it warm, maybe with marinara sauce for dipping your guests will pull it apart with excitement! If you’re adapting for dietary needs, remember tips like using gluten-free flour from the start. Notes

πŸ•’ The dough can be assembled ahead of time, wrapped tightly, and refrigerated for up to 24β€―hours before baking.
πŸ”₯ Roasting the garlic intensifies its flavor and gives the butter a silky, mellow texture.
🍞 If time is short, use premade pizza or bread dough in place of the homemade version.
