Description
🥓 Delight guests with buttery brie wrapped in salty prosciutto, creating a melt‑in‑your‑mouth bite.
🧀 These golden puff‑pastry rolls are quick to prepare and perfect for effortless entertaining.
Ingredients
– 1 wheel (8 12 oz / 225 340 g) Brie cheese
– 8 slices Prosciutto (thinly-sliced)
– 2 sheets (≈450 g total) Puff pastry, thawed
– 8 tsp (≈40 ml) Fig preserves (or other sweet jam)
– Freshly cracked black pepper to taste
– 1 large Egg (beaten, for egg wash)
– Coarse sugar a light dusting (≈1 tsp)
– 1 Tbsp (≈15 ml) Honey (for drizzling)
– ½ tsp (≈1 g) Fresh thyme leaves (for garnish)
– 1 Tbsp (≈10 g) Pomegranate arils (optional, for color)
Instructions
1-Wrap each slice of Brie with a slice of prosciutto, making sure the cheese is completely covered for that perfect salty envelope.
2-Prepare the pastry by cutting each puff pastry sheet into 4 equal squares, giving you 8 squares total to work with.
3-Spread 1 tsp (≈5 ml) of fig preserve onto the center of each square, then place a prosciutto-wrapped Brie piece in the middle and sprinkle with a pinch of black pepper for a little zing.
4-Enclose the filling by bringing two opposite corners of the square up and over the cheese, pressing gently to seal the edges so it forms a cute little “purse” shape.
5-Brush each parcel with the beaten egg and sprinkle lightly with coarse sugar for that irresistible golden finish.
6-Bake on the prepared sheet for 15 20 minutes, or until the pastry is deep golden-brown and puffed up nicely. If you’re using a convection oven, drop the temperature to 375°F (190°C) for even results.
7-Finish things off by drizzling each roll with 1 Tbsp (≈15 ml) of honey, scattering fresh thyme leaves, and adding pomegranate arils for a pop of color and tartness right after you take them out.
Notes
⏰ Assemble the rolls up to 4 hours ahead; cover loosely and keep refrigerated until ready to bake.
❄️ Freeze assembled rolls on a tray, then transfer to a zip‑top bag; bake from frozen, adding 3–4 minutes to the bake time.
🍯 For extra sweetness, swap fig preserves for a thin layer of honey before sealing the pastry.
