Description
🥧 Plum Pie Recipe Made Simple offers a delightful way to enjoy juicy, fresh plums wrapped in a tender, flaky crust.
🍽️ This easy recipe is perfect for any occasion, delivering classic flavors with minimal prep and a comforting homemade touch.
Ingredients
– 2 unbaked pie crusts
– 2 pounds (about 900 grams) plums
– 1/2 cup (100 grams) sugar
– 2 tablespoons (16 grams) flour
– 1 teaspoon cinnamon
– 1 tablespoon (14 grams) butter
Instructions
1-Getting started: Begin by preheating your oven to 450°F (230°C) and preparing your workspace. Wash the plums, leaving the skin on to save time, then cut them in half, remove the pits, and quarter them for even baking.
2-Next, place one unbaked pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish. Evenly arrange the quartered plums inside the crust. In a separate bowl, mix the 1/2 cup (100 grams) sugar, 2 tablespoons (16 grams) flour, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon, then sprinkle this over the plums. Dot the top with 1 tablespoon (14 grams) butter pieces for extra richness.
3-Now, cover everything with the second pie crust. Trim the edges, fold them under, and crimp to seal. Cut six 1-inch slits in the top crust to let steam escape. Bake at 450°F for 12 minutes, then lower the temperature to 325°F (165°C) and continue baking for another 25 minutes, or until the plums are tender. Let the pie cool before serving it tastes great warm or cold, and the whole process takes about 47 minutes, not counting crust prep.
Notes
🍑 No need to peel plums, saving time during preparation.
🥧 Homemade or store-bought crusts both work well for convenience.
✨ Substitute cinnamon with nutmeg for a different flavor profile.
