1/2 cup (113g) salted butter, melted
1 cup (about 280g) creamy peanut butter for the base
2 tablespoons peanut butter for the chocolate layer
1 cup (180g) semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips or melting chocolate


Instructions

1. Grease an 8×8-inch (or 9×9-inch) pan and line it with parchment paper or foil for easy removal.
2. In a bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs and powdered sugar.
3. Mix in melted butter and 1 cup peanut butter until fully combined.
4. Press this mixture evenly into the prepared pan to form the peanut butter base.
5. Melt chocolate chips together with 2 tablespoons peanut butter in the microwave, stirring every 20 seconds until smooth, or use a double boiler.
6. Spread the melted chocolate mixture evenly over the peanut butter base.
7. Chill the bars in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours until firm; overnight chilling (8 hours or more) is recommended for best texture.
8. Before slicing, let the bars sit at room temperature for 10 minutes to help with cutting.
9. Use a large, sharp knife to cut into squares (typically 16 servings).
