Description

πŸͺ Oreo Balls are a creamy, no-bake chocolate treat perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth quickly and easily.
🍫 Combining crushed Oreos with rich cream cheese and a smooth chocolate coating makes these truffles a delightful dessert or party snack.

Ingredients

Scale

36 (14.3 oz / 405 g) Oreo cookies for best results

8 oz (226 g) full-fat and softened cream cheese

12 oz (339 g) semi-sweet or white, chopped chocolate

1/2 teaspoon oil for thinning chocolate

As needed garnishes sprinkles or crumbs

Instructions

1-Step 1: Prepare the Crumbs Pulse 36 whole Oreo cookies, including the filling, in a food processor until you get fine crumbs. This step is crucial as it forms the base of your mixture, giving that classic Oreo flavor.

2-Step 2: Mix the Base In a bowl, mix the crumbs with 8 oz of softened full-fat brick cream cheese using a mixer until fully combined. The result should be a moldable dough that’s easy to work with.

3-Step 3: Shape the Balls Scoop about one tablespoon (18-22 g) of the mixture and roll it into balls by hand. If it’s too sticky, chill it for 15 minutes first to make shaping easier.

4-First Step: Crush 24 Oreo cookies finely using a food processor or by hand; this forms the base texture of the balls.

5-Second Step: Mix crushed Oreos with 8 oz of softened cream cheese until combined forming a moldable dough.

6-Third Step: Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to firm up for easy shaping.

7-Fourth Step: Roll the chilled dough into 1-inch balls, placing each on a parchment-lined tray.

8-Fifth Step: Melt 1 cup chocolate chips using a microwave-safe bowl or double boiler.

9-Sixth Step: Dip each ball into the melted chocolate coating evenly, then return to the tray.

10-Seventh Step: Refrigerate the coated balls until chocolate hardens, approximately 1 hour.

11-Final Step: Serve chilled, optionally garnished with crushed Oreos or sprinkles; these can be adapted for dietary preferences by using vegan chocolate and dairy-free cheese. For more no-bake ideas, check out our no-bake chocolate eclair cake recipe.

Notes

❄️ Keep the balls cold before and during dipping to maintain shape.
🍫 Real baking chocolate bars melt smoother than chips or candy melts.
πŸ•’ Reheat chocolate in short bursts to prevent it from hardening during dipping.
