Description

🥬 Savor the hearty and comforting flavors of Cabbage and Noodles with kielbasa, perfect for an easy and satisfying meal.
🍜 This recipe uses simple ingredients to create a richly flavored dish that is both nutritious and delicious.

Ingredients

– 12 ounces kielbasa or smoked sausage, sliced

– 2 tablespoons olive oil, divided

– ¼ cup salted butter

– 1 large onion, diced

– ½ head green cabbage, chopped (approximately 6 to 7 cups)

– 1 clove garlic, minced

– ⅔ cup frozen peas

– 8 ounces dry egg noodles

– Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

1-Start by cooking the egg noodles as per the package instructions until they’re just right, then drain and set them aside for later. This sets the foundation for a dish that comes together quickly, perfect for busy evenings.

2-Next, in a large saucepan, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat and add the sliced kielbasa to brown it nicely. Once that’s done, stir in the remaining olive oil, salted butter, and diced onion, cooking until the onion softens, which takes about 5 minutes. This step builds layers of flavor that make the final dish so appealing.

3-Follow that by adding the chopped cabbage and minced garlic, stirring them in and cooking until the cabbage becomes tender, around 10 to 15 minutes. Finally, mix in the frozen peas, the cooked noodles, salt, and black pepper, letting everything heat through for another 2 to 3 minutes. With a total prep time of about 10 minutes and 30 minutes of cooking, you’ll have a warm meal ready in roughly 40 minutes.

Notes

🧂 Season generously with salt and pepper to enhance flavors.
🍝 Use egg noodles for a light and tender texture.
🌶️ Add a pinch of red pepper flakes or cayenne for a spicy kick if desired.
