Instructions

1-Prepare Crust: Finely crush the chocolate sandwich cookies. Combine with melted butter and press evenly into a 9-inch deep dish pie pan. Chill in the refrigerator.

2-Make Chocolate Pudding: In a saucepan over low-medium heat, combine milk, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, cornstarch, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Stir constantly every 30 seconds until thickened. Remove from heat and chill in the refrigerator, stirring occasionally.

3-Make Vanilla Cream Layer: Beat softened cream cheese and 8 ounces whipped topping until smooth. Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract; beat until smooth. Spread evenly over the chilled crust. Refrigerate.

4-Assemble Chocolate Layer: Gently fold the chilled chocolate pudding with the remaining 8 ounces whipped topping until smooth. Spread or pipe this mixture over the vanilla layer in the pie.

5-Make Whipped Cream Topping: If homemade, whip heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form. Pipe rosettes around the pie edge if desired. Otherwise, use sufficient whipped topping to cover the top.

6-Garnish and Chill: Sprinkle mini chocolate chips over the top and optionally drizzle with melted chocolate. Chill the pie in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
