Description

🥐 This recipe offers a delicious and satisfying way to enjoy ham and cheese in a convenient pastry form.
🧀 Perfect for breakfast or appetizers, these snacks bring together simple ingredients for a flavorful treat.

Ingredients

– 1 sheet puff pastry (about 8 oz), defrosted

– 6 oz ham

– 6 oz Gruyère cheese, cut into six rectangles

– Thyme leaves, removed from 4 sprigs

– 1 tablespoon everything bagel seasoning

– Optional Dijon mustard

– 1 egg + 1 tablespoon heavy cream, whisked together for egg wash

Instructions

1-Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

2-Prepare the egg wash by whisking 1 egg with 1 tablespoon of heavy cream, and set it aside.

3-Roll out the defrosted puff pastry sheet slightly on a floured surface.

4-Cut it into six equal rectangles by slicing once lengthwise and then dividing each half into thirds.

5-Place the rectangles on the prepared baking sheet. If using, spread a small amount of Dijon mustard on each.

6-Place one rolled piece of ham and one rectangle of Gruyère cheese in the center of each pastry.

7-Brush the pastry edges with the egg wash. Pinch two opposite corners to seal the filling, leaving two corners open.

8-Brush the entire outside of each pastry with egg wash.

9-Sprinkle thyme leaves from 4 sprigs and 1 tablespoon of everything bagel seasoning on top.

10-Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until deep golden brown. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

🥐 Ensure the puff pastry is properly defrosted and slightly rolled out to make cutting and folding easier.
🧀 Use good quality ham and Gruyère cheese for the best flavor combination.
🌿 Optional Dijon mustard adds a tasty tang that complements the ham and cheese nicely.
