Description

🍫 Indulge in rich, fudgy German Chocolate Brownies topped with a luscious coconut and pecan frosting.
🥥 This recipe combines classic chocolate flavors with a signature creamy, nutty topping perfect for dessert lovers.

Ingredients

– 1/3 cup cocoa powder

– 1/2 cup vegetable or canola oil

– 1/2 cup softened butter

– 2 cups sugar

– 4 large eggs

– 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

– 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

– 1 teaspoon salt

– 1/4 cup brown sugar

– 1/4 cup granulated sugar

– 1/4 cup butter

– 2 egg yolks

– 1/3 cup evaporated milk

– 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

– 1/2 cup chopped pecans

– 1/2 cup shredded coconut

Instructions

1-First Steps: Getting Started Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C) and greasing a 9×13 inch baking pan. This sets the stage for even baking and easy cleanup. In a mixing bowl, combine the oil with cocoa powder until it’s smooth, then add the softened butter and stir well for a creamy mix.

2-Mixing the Batter: Next, mix in the sugar and beat it for about one minute to make everything fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, stirring after each to blend them in nicely, then stir in the vanilla extract. Finally, add the flour and salt just until combined, keeping the batter thick and ready to bake.

3-Baking and Frosting: Pour the batter into your prepared pan and bake for 30 to 40 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. While the brownies bake, whip up the frosting by combining brown sugar, granulated sugar, butter, egg yolks, and evaporated milk in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until it thickens and reaches a low boil, then remove from heat and mix in vanilla extract, chopped pecans, and shredded coconut. Let the frosting cool before spreading it over the cooled brownies.

Notes

🍴 Stir frosting constantly while cooking to prevent curdling.
⏲️ Check oven temperature accuracy to avoid dry brownies; reduce baking time if needed.
🌰 Prepare frosting a few days in advance and refrigerate for convenience and flavor melding.
