Description

πŸ“ Irresistible combination of creamy cheesecake and sweet strawberries wrapped in crispy golden crust
πŸ₯³ Perfect indulgent dessert that brings carnival-style fried treats right to your home kitchen

Ingredients

Scale

4 oz (about 113 grams) softened cream cheese

ΒΌ cup granulated sugar for cheesecake filling

Β½ teaspoon vanilla extract for cheesecake filling

Β½ teaspoon vanilla extract for pie filling mixture

ΒΌ cup granulated sugar for pie filling mixture

Canned strawberry pie filling (quantity enough for filling six pies)

Refrigerated pie crust (enough for six 5-6 inch rounds)

Vegetable oil for deep frying (enough to submerge pies)

Β½ cup powdered sugar for glaze

1 teaspoon corn syrup for glaze

1 tablespoon water for glaze

Instructions

1-First, heat the vegetable oil in a heavy pot to 375Β°F (190Β°C) and keep an eye on it with a thermometer to maintain the right temperature. In a medium bowl, blend 4 oz softened cream cheese, ΒΌ cup granulated sugar, and Β½ teaspoon vanilla extract to create the cheesecake filling. This step ensures the filling is creamy and full of flavor.

2-Next, roll out the refrigerated pie crust and cut it into six rounds, each about 5-6 inches in diameter. On each round, add one heaping tablespoon of the cheesecake filling and 2 tablespoons of canned strawberry pie filling. To seal, brush the edges with water, fold them over, and crimp the edges tightly to keep everything inside.

3-Now, mix Β½ cup powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon corn syrup, and 1 tablespoon water to make the glaze, then set it aside. Fry one pie at a time for 2 to 3 minutes until it’s golden brown, and drain on paper towels. Brush the hot pies on both sides with the glaze and let them cool on a rack. Repeat for all pies and serve right away for the best taste.

Notes

🌑️ Use a thermometer to maintain oil temperature – too hot will burn the crust, too cool will make them greasy
πŸ”ͺ Make sure to seal the edges tightly to prevent filling from leaking during frying
🍯 Brush the glaze on while pies are still hot to ensure it sticks properly and creates a beautiful shine
