Description

🍪 Delight in the rich and chewy texture of these Creme Brulee Cookie Bars, topped with a crispy, caramelized toffee layer reminiscent of the classic dessert.
🔥 Perfect for parties or gifting, these bars combine indulgent vanilla and buttery flavors with a satisfying crunch.

Ingredients

– ½ cup (113g) unsalted butter

– 12 ounces (350g) white chocolate chips (about 2 cups)

– 1 ¼ cups (155g) all-purpose flour

– ¾ cup (149g) granulated sugar

– 1 tablespoon (15ml) vanilla extract

– ¼ teaspoon salt

– 3 large eggs

– 1 cup toffee bits

Instructions

1-Getting ready: First, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×9 inch pan with greased parchment paper or foil to make cleanup a breeze. This preparation step ensures your bars come out perfectly without sticking to the pan.

2-Melt and mix: Next, in a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter and white chocolate chips together over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth don’t worry if it looks a bit curdled at first; it will even out. Let this mixture cool slightly before moving on. In a large bowl, stir together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, salt, and eggs until well combined. Now, add that cooled chocolate mixture and stir everything until it’s nice and smooth, then pour the batter into your prepared pan.

3-Bake and finish: Bake the bars for 20 minutes, then pull them out and sprinkle the toffee bits evenly on top for that crunchy finish. Pop them back in the oven for another 8 to 12 minutes until the edges turn golden brown. Keep in mind, the center might still be a tad gooey when tested with a toothpick, but that’s okay overbaking can make them tough. Once done, let the bars cool completely; they’ll firm up as they sit, and if they’re still soft, chilling them helps. For dietary twists, refer back to the ingredients section for subs that keep the magic alive.

Notes

🍫 Batter will be very liquid before baking but yields gooey bars.
❄️ Ensure complete cooling for bars to firm up properly; chill if needed.
⏲️ When unsure, bake slightly longer but monitor edges to prevent overbaking.
