Ingredients
– 2 1/2 cups crushed pretzels for the crunchy, salty base
– 1/2 cup melted unsalted butter to bind the pretzel crust together
– 3 tablespoons granulated sugar to add a touch of sweetness to the crust
– Two 3-ounce packages of cranberry-flavored gelatin for the vibrant cranberry layer
– 2 cups boiling water to dissolve the gelatin properly
– 14 ounces of whole berry cranberry sauce to provide the sweet-tart flavor in the topping
– 8 ounces softened cream cheese for the creamy middle layer
– 1/2 cup sugar to sweeten the creamy layer smoothly
– 8 ounces of thawed whipped topping to add lightness and fluff to the middle
Instructions
1-Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish to prepare the crust base.
2-Crush the pretzels and mix with melted butter and sugar, then press firmly into the dish and bake for 10 minutes until golden.
3-Let the crust cool completely before adding the next layer to avoid sogginess.
4-In a bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with sugar until smooth, then fold in the whipped topping for a creamy fill.
5-Spread this mixture evenly over the cooled crust to seal the edges and refrigerate for about an hour.
6-Prepare the cranberry layer by dissolving the gelatin in boiling water and stirring in the cranberry sauce, then cool to room temperature.
7-Pour the cooled cranberry mixture over the creamy layer and refrigerate the whole dish for at least 4 hours until set.
8-For adaptations, use plant-based substitutes for vegan versions or gluten-free snacks to keep the crunch.
Notes
🧊 Chill each layer properly for best texture and easier slicing.
🥄 Use full-fat cream cheese for a richer flavor.
🚫 Seal the crust edges with the cream cheese layer to prevent sogginess from the gelatin topping.
