Description
🍵 Costa Rican Tea is a refreshing, antioxidant-rich beverage that supports natural weight loss and metabolism.
🌿 This easy-to-brew tea combines traditional Guayusa leaves with vibrant herbs and fruits, offering both health benefits and delightful flavor.
Ingredients
4 cups water
4 teaspoons (or tea bags) Costa Rican tea leaves (Guayusa, or alternatives like white or green tea)
2 stalks lemongrass, cut into pieces
¼ cup chopped fresh pineapple
Optional: A few fresh mint leaves
2 tablespoons honey or preferred sweetener
Instructions
1-Gather your ingredients: Measure 4 cups of fresh filtered water, 4 teaspoons or tea bags of Costa Rican tea leaves (or white/green tea as an alternative), 2 stalks of lemongrass cut into pieces, 1/4 cup of chopped fresh pineapple, a few fresh mint leaves (optional), and 2 tablespoons of honey or your preferred sweetener.
2-Boil the water: Bring the 4 cups of water to a rolling boil in a saucepan over medium-high heat.
3-Simmer the tea: Add the tea leaves or bags to the boiling water, then reduce the heat to low and simmer gently for 10 minutes to extract full flavor and antioxidants.
4-Add fresh ingredients: Stir in the chopped pineapple, lemongrass pieces, and mint leaves if using. Continue to simmer for an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally to meld flavors.
5-Sweeten and strain: Remove the pot from heat, add honey or your sweetener, and stir until dissolved. Strain the tea through a fine mesh sieve or tea strainer into a teapot or pitcher to remove solids.
6-Serve: Enjoy the tea hot right away or chill and serve over ice for a refreshing cold beverage. Garnish with fresh mint or a lemon slice if desired.
Notes
💧 Use fresh, filtered water to avoid bitterness and enhance flavor.
⏳ Avoid oversteeping the tea leaves to maintain smooth taste without harshness.
🍋 Add a splash of lemon or adjust honey to balance sweetness without extra calories.
