Description
🍫 Enjoy a decadent chocolate chip pie with a perfect balance of gooey center and crispy crust.
🥧 This recipe is easy to make and pairs wonderfully with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for a delightful dessert experience.
Ingredients
– 1 unbaked 9-inch deep dish pie pastry
– 2 eggs
– 1/2 cup (60 grams) all-purpose flour
– 1/2 cup (100 grams) granulated sugar
– 1/2 cup (packed, about 110 grams) brown sugar
– 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
– 3/4 cup (170 grams) softened butter
– 1 cup (about 170 grams) semi-sweet chocolate chips
– 1 cup (about 120 grams) chopped pecans or walnuts
Instructions
1-Preheat your oven: Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C) and prepare your unbaked 9-inch deep dish pie pastry in a pie dish.
2-Beat the eggs: In a large bowl, beat the 2 eggs on high speed until they are foamy and pale, which takes about a minute.
3-Add and mix dry ingredients: Add the 1/2 cup (60 grams) all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup (100 grams) granulated sugar, 1/2 cup (packed, about 110 grams) brown sugar, and 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract. Mix everything well until combined.
4-Beat in the butter: Beat in the 3/4 cup (170 grams) softened butter until it’s fully incorporated into the mixture, creating a thick batter.
5-Fold in chocolates and nuts: Fold in the 1 cup (about 170 grams) semi-sweet chocolate chips and 1 cup (about 120 grams) chopped pecans or walnuts gently.
6-Spoon batter into pie shell: Spoon the thick batter into the unbaked pie shell, smoothing it out evenly.
7-Bake the pie: Bake for 55 to 60 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted halfway between the edge and center comes out clean. If the crust browns too quickly, cover it loosely with aluminum foil.
8-Cool and serve: Let the pie cool on a wire rack before serving it warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
