Description

Ingredients

– 1/2 cup unsalted butter (8 tablespoons), softened

– 2/3 cup sugar

– 2 large eggs, at room temperature

– 3 medium to large very ripe bananas (about 1 3/4 cups mashed)

– 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

– 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

– 1 teaspoon baking soda

– 1/2 teaspoon salt

– 1 cup chocolate chips, divided (semi-sweet recommended; milk chocolate, bittersweet, or mini chocolate chips can also be used, adjusted quantity 2/3 to 3/4 cup for mini chips)


Instructions

1-Preheat your oven: preheating your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C) and greasing a standard bread pan that’s about 9.25” x 5.25” x 2.75” to prevent sticking. This initial setup ensures even baking and easy removal later.

2-Cream the butter and sugar: In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until fluffy, then add the lightly beaten eggs and mix well for a smooth base.

3-Mash the bananas and mix ingredients: Mash the bananas to a chunky applesauce consistency and stir them in along with the vanilla extract, blending everything thoroughly. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt before combining it with the wet mixture, mixing just until incorporated to avoid a tough texture.

4-Fold in chocolate chips and bake: Once mixed, fold in 3/4 cup of the chocolate chips to distribute them evenly. Pour the batter into your prepared pan and sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup of chocolate chips on top for extra gooeyness. Bake for 55 to 65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, then let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
