Description

🍫 This Brownie Trifle Recipe layers rich chocolate brownies, creamy pudding, and crunchy toffee bits for a deliciously indulgent dessert.
πŸ“ Its beautiful presentation and mix of textures make it a perfect treat for special occasions or cozy nights in.

Ingredients

Scale

Two 18-ounce packages of brownie mix (prepared with eggs, water, and vegetable oil as specified by the mix instructions)

One box (3.9 ounces) of instant chocolate pudding mix

β…” cup whole milk

One 14-ounce can of sweetened condensed milk

Two 8-ounce containers of frozen whipped topping, thawed

One 8-ounce bag of milk chocolate English toffee bits

Instructions

1-Preparing the Brownies: Start by preheating your oven to 325Β°F (163Β°C). Line a 9 x 13-inch (23 x 33 cm) baking pan with foil, leaving some overhang on the sides for easy removal. Spray the foil generously with nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking.

2-Preparing the Brownies: Prepare the brownie batter according to the package directions, using the eggs, water, and vegetable oil as specified by the mix instructions. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan. Bake for approximately 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs (not wet batter).

3-Preparing the Brownies: Once baked, allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan. This is an important step! If the brownies are even slightly warm, they can make the cream layer runny. Once cooled, use the foil overhang to lift the brownies out of the pan, then cut them into 1-inch (2.5 cm) squares.

4-Creating the Chocolate Cream: While the brownies are cooling, you can prepare the delicious chocolate cream filling. In a large bowl, combine the instant chocolate pudding mix, whole milk, and sweetened condensed milk. Whisk these ingredients together until the mixture is smooth and well combined.

5-Creating the Chocolate Cream: Once the pudding mixture is smooth, gently fold in 8 ounces (one container) of the thawed whipped topping. Be careful not to overmix, as you want to maintain the light, airy texture of the whipped topping. Fold until just fully incorporated.

6-Assembling the Trifle: Now for the fun part assembly! Choose a large glass bowl or trifle dish so the beautiful layers will be visible. Here’s how to layer your Chocolate Brownie Trifle:

* Start with a layer of half of the brownie pieces at the bottom of the dish.

* Spread half of the chocolate cream mixture over the brownies.

* Sprinkle one-third of the toffee bits over the cream.

* Add a layer of half of the remaining whipped topping.

* Repeat the layering with the remaining brownie pieces and chocolate cream.

* Finish by topping with the last third of toffee bits.

7-Assembling the Trifle: Once assembled, cover the trifle and refrigerate for 3 to 4 hours before serving. This chilling time is essential as it allows the flavors to meld together and the brownies to soften slightly, creating a perfect texture.

Notes

🍰 Add toffee bits just before serving to maintain their crunch.
❄️ Brownies and chocolate cream can be made up to two days in advance and stored separately.
β˜• For a subtle mocha flavor, add a teaspoon of instant coffee to the chocolate cream mixture.
