Description
🌶️ Smoky-spicy creamy chipotle sauce transforms tacos, bowls, dips with bold adobo flavor and cooling yogurt tang.
🥄 5-minute blend using simple ingredients – healthier than store-bought, fridge-ready for a week of meals.
Ingredients
– 1/2 cup Greek yogurt for creaminess, tang, and thicker texture
– 1/4 cup mayonnaise for richness and smooth base
– 1 chipotle pepper from a can of chipotles in adobo sauce for smoky heat and bold chili flavor
– 1 garlic clove, peeled for sharp, savory depth
– 1 teaspoon fresh lime juice for brightening the sauce and balancing richness
– 1 teaspoon olive oil for blending into silky sauce
– 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup for softening heat with sweetness
– Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper for bringing all flavors together
Instructions
1-First step: gather and prep everything Start by measuring all the ingredients so the process stays fast and easy. Peel the garlic clove, measure the yogurt and mayonnaise, and set out your chipotle pepper from the can. If you want a milder sauce, you can use a smaller piece of the pepper or scrape out some of the seeds before blending.
2-Second step: add everything to the food processor Place the Greek yogurt, mayonnaise, chipotle pepper, garlic clove, lime juice, olive oil, and honey or maple syrup into the bowl of a food processor. A small blender also works if that is what you have on hand. Make sure the ingredients are close together in the center so they blend evenly.
3-Third step: season before blending Add a generous pinch of sea salt and several grinds of freshly ground black pepper. This is the point where the flavor starts to come alive. Salt helps the chipotle taste fuller, while black pepper adds a little bite without changing the creamy texture.
4-Fourth step: blend until smooth and creamy Blend the mixture until it becomes smooth, thick, and creamy. Stop the machine once or twice to scrape down the sides if needed. This helps catch any pieces of garlic or chipotle that cling to the bowl.
5-Final step: taste, adjust, and serve Taste the chipotle garlic sauce and adjust the seasoning with more salt and pepper if needed. You can also add another bit of honey for sweetness, a little more chipotle for heat, or extra lime juice if you want more tang. Once it tastes right to you, it is ready to use.
Notes
🌀 Food processor or blender yields the smoothest, creamiest texture.
