Description

🍗 This Chicken Marinade helps keep your chicken juicy and bursting with flavor no matter how you cook it.
🌿 Its versatile blend of herbs, spices, and tangy ingredients works for grilling, baking, or stovetop cooking adding delicious depth to every bite.

Ingredients

– ½ cup extra virgin olive oil for moisture

– ½ cup balsamic vinegar or other vinegar for moisture

– ¼ cup low sodium soy sauce

– ¼ cup Worcestershire sauce

– ⅛ cup fresh lemon juice for enhancing taste and health benefits

– ¾ cup brown sugar (optional to reduce or eliminate)

– 2 teaspoons dried rosemary for enhancing taste and health benefits

– 2 tablespoons mustard (Dijon, spicy brown, or plain yellow)

– 1 ½ teaspoons salt

– 1 teaspoon ground black pepper

– 2 teaspoons garlic powder

Instructions

1-Combine all ingredients in a large bowl or resealable bag and mix well by whisking or shaking.

2-Remove ½ cup of the marinade and set aside for basting.

3-Place the chicken in a large resealable bag, pour the marinade over it, close, and massage to coat the chicken thoroughly.

4-Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, ideally 4 to 6 hours, or up to 24 hours. Poking holes in the chicken with a fork before marinating can speed absorption.

5-For grilling: Preheat grill to medium-high, lightly oil grates, grill chicken for 5 to 6 minutes per side until the internal temperature reaches 165°F, basting occasionally with reserved marinade. Rest the chicken tented with foil for 5 minutes before serving.

6-For baking: Preheat oven to 400°F (or 450°F for faster cooking), place chicken on a baking sheet, bake for 18 to 22 minutes (or 15 to 18 minutes at 450°F) until internal temperature reaches 165°F, basting often. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

7-For stovetop cooking: Preheat and lightly grease a skillet over medium-high heat, cook chicken for 8 to 10 minutes per side until it reaches 165°F internally. Rest for 5 minutes before serving.

8-First Step: Gather and measure all ingredients ensuring freshness, particularly the lemon juice and herbs, to maximize flavor.

9-Second Step: In a medium bowl, whisk together the mixture until thoroughly combined.

10-Third Step: Place chicken pieces in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. For more ideas on pairing marinades, visit this balsamic chicken recipe for inspiration.

Notes

⏳ The marinade flavor intensifies the longer it sits.
🧄 Use garlic powder instead of fresh garlic to prevent burning during cooking.
❄️ Marinated chicken can be frozen up to 6 months; thaw in refrigerator before cooking.
