Description

🌿 Best Butter Mints are smooth, melt-in-your-mouth treats with a refreshing minty flavor.
🍬 Perfectly sweet and homemade, these mints offer a delightful and easy way to impress guests or enjoy a cool treat anytime.

Ingredients

– 1/2 cup (1 stick) softened butter

– 4 cups powdered sugar

– 1 tablespoon half and half

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

– 1/4 teaspoon peppermint oil

– 1 teaspoon peppermint extract as a substitute

– Dash of salt

– 2 drops yellow food coloring (optional)

Instructions

1-Gathering and Mixing the Ingredients: First, beat the softened butter in a mixer until it’s smooth and creamy. This step helps build a solid base for your mints. Gradually add the powdered sugar, half and half, vanilla extract, peppermint oil, and salt, beating on low speed until the mixture turns dry and crumbly.

2-Gathering and Mixing the Ingredients: Next, mix in 2 drops of yellow food coloring if you want that fun tint, then beat on high speed until you get a smooth dough. 3-Shaping and Drying the Mints: Once your dough is ready, sprinkle powdered sugar on a flat surface to prevent sticking. Take a small, palm-sized portion of the dough and roll it into a snake about 1/2 inch thick. Cover the rest of the dough with a damp paper towel to keep it from drying out.

4-Shaping and Drying the Mints: Cut the rolled dough into bite-sized pieces using a sharp knife, then place them on a baking sheet. Let the mints set and dry overnight at room temperature for the best texture. Notes

🌡️ Adjust half and half gradually to control dough moisture for best texture.
💧 Use peppermint oil sparingly as it is much stronger than extract.
🎨 Gel food coloring prevents adding extra moisture compared to liquid colorings.
