Description

🍯 Experience the rich, nutty flavors of Browned Butter Beignets with their irresistibly crispy texture.
🍓 Paired with fresh strawberries and a light dusting of powdered sugar, these French treats make a perfect indulgence for any occasion.

Ingredients

– 2 cups all-purpose flour for the dough

– 1/2 cup brown butter for flavoring

– 1/4 cup granulated sugar for sweetness

– 1 tablespoon baking powder for leavening

– 1/2 teaspoon salt to enhance flavor

– 2 large eggs for binding

– 3/4 cup milk to keep dough moist

– powdered sugar as needed for dusting after frying

– fresh strawberries to taste for garnish or flavor

Instructions

1-Getting Started: First, measure out all your ingredients and brown the butter over medium heat until it’s fragrant and golden watch it closely to get it just right. This sets the stage for that amazing flavor. Then, in a big bowl, mix your dry ingredients like flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar to make sure they’re evenly blended.

2-Mixing the Dough: Whisk the eggs and milk together, then stir in the cooled brown butter for a smooth blend. Slowly add this wet mix to your dry ingredients, stirring gently until you get a soft dough don’t overdo it, or your beignets might not be as fluffy. This step is key for that light texture we’re after.

3-Frying and Finishing: Heat oil in a pan to about 350°F (175°C), but keep it shallow so the dough cooks evenly without submerging completely. Drop in small pieces of dough and fry for 2-3 minutes per side until they’re golden brown. Use a slotted spoon to pull them out, drain on paper towels, and dust with powdered sugar. For a fruity twist, add fresh strawberries on top or as a side. Check out our rhubarb muffins for more baking tips that complement this process.

Notes

🍳 Fry in shallow oil to ensure even cooking without making the beignets greasy.
❄️ Avoid overloading powdered sugar initially to let the golden crispy texture shine.
🍓 Serve with fresh strawberries for a fresh and fruity contrast to the rich beignets.
