Description
🔥 Indulge in Bananas Foster, a quick dessert featuring rich caramel sauce and warm spices that elevate simple bananas into an extraordinary treat.
🍌 Perfect for impressing guests or enjoying a cozy night in, this recipe blends buttery sweetness with a touch of flambé excitement.
Ingredients
1 stick (about 113 grams) salted butter
1 cup (packed) dark brown sugar
1/2 to 3/4 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup dark rum
2 whole bananas sliced diagonally into thick pieces
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
A dash of cinnamon
Instructions
1-Melt the salted butter in a heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Once it’s melted, stir in the packed dark brown sugar until it dissolves.
2-Add the heavy cream and cook the mixture until it’s bubbly this is where your caramel sauce starts to shine with those warm spices.
3-Gently add the banana slices and chopped walnuts or pecans, stirring to coat them evenly. This step brings in the natural sweetness of the bananas.
4-Pour in the dark rum and carefully ignite it to flambé for about 30 seconds; let the flame die out on its own for that extra flavor boost. If you’re skipping the flambé, just simmer the sauce a bit longer.
5-Remove from heat, stir in the dash of cinnamon, and serve right away over vanilla ice cream or French toast. It’s that quick and easy!
Notes
🔥 When flambéing, use caution and work in a well-ventilated area to safely ignite the rum.
🍌 Use ripe but firm bananas to ensure they hold shape during cooking.
🍨 Serve immediately for best texture and flavor, especially when pairing with ice cream or French toast.
