Description

πŸ₯‘ Enjoy a visually stunning and nutritious meal with the Avocado Sushi Cake, combining fresh ingredients and vibrant flavors.
πŸŽ‰ This easy-to-make sushi cake is perfect for impressing guests or enjoying a delicious, healthy meal at home.

Ingredients

Scale

2 cups cooked sushi rice seasoned with rice vinegar

1 ripe avocado, sliced

1 cucumber, julienned

1/2 pound (approximately 225 grams) fresh sushi-grade fish such as salmon or tuna, thinly sliced

1 sheet of nori seaweed, cut into thin strips

Soy sauce for serving

Pickled ginger for serving

Wasabi for serving

Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

1-Getting started with avocado sushi cake: Begin by rinsing 2 cups of sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then cook it according to the package instructions. This sets the base for your delicious layers.

2-Season rice: Next, heat rice vinegar with sugar and salt until dissolved, mix it into the cooked rice, and let it cool to room temperature.

3-Assemble the cake: Line a springform cake tin with parchment paper and place a nori sheet at the base. Spread half of the sushi rice over the nori for a solid foundation.

4-Layer ingredients: Layer half of the avocado slices, half of the julienned cucumber, and half of the fish slices on top. Repeat with the remaining rice, avocado, cucumber, and fish, finishing with rice on top.

5-Chill and garnish: Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set. Once ready, remove from the tin and garnish with sesame seeds and nori strips, then serve with soy sauce, pickled ginger, and wasabi.

Notes

πŸ₯„ Use a springform pan or cake ring for easy shaping and removal.
πŸ₯‘ To prevent avocado from browning, keep the sushi cake refrigerated and covered until serving.
🌢️ Add optional garnishes like spring onions, chili flakes, or a drizzle of spicy mayo to personalize the flavor.
