Ingredients

– 1/2 cup white granulated sugar

– 1/4 cup regular soy sauce

– 2 grated garlic cloves

– 1 teaspoon grated ginger

– 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper

– 4 boneless skinless chicken thighs

– 1 teaspoon cornstarch


Instructions

1-Prepare the sauce: Stir together 1/2 cup white granulated sugar, 1/4 cup regular soy sauce, 2 grated garlic cloves, 1 teaspoon grated ginger, and 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper until the sugar mostly dissolves.

2-Marinate the chicken: Pat the chicken thighs dry and coat them with half of this teriyaki sauce, then marinate for about 30 minutes or at least 5 minutes if you’re in a hurry.

3-Preheat the air fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400Β°F (204Β°C) for 7 minutes to get it nice and hot.

4-Cook the chicken thighs: Place the chicken thighs smooth side down in the basket and cook for 7 minutes, then brush with teriyaki sauce, flip, brush the other side, and cook for another 6 to 7 minutes.

5-Cook the chicken breasts: For chicken breasts, adjust to 380Β°F (193Β°C) and cook for 6 minutes on each side until fully done.

6-After cooking: Brush on additional sauce before serving to enhance the glaze.

7-Check doneness: Always check that the internal temperature reaches 165Β°F (74Β°C) for safety and optimal tenderness.
